Ok...so its been busy....mainly because the Toronto International Film Festival just happened. Of course I had to be a part of it...
There were parties...
There were movie screenings....Prisoners, Dallas Buyers Club, Gravity, 12 Years a Slave, Palo Alto...all which were excellent! All worth seeing...
There was a meeting with James Franco...where I drunkenly asked him how he copes with being an actor...and when will it just happen? To which he replied..."It just takes one role and the right role for YOU. Then it all changes...." His words gave me hope, a feeling that eventually somewhere, somewhere down the line the dream becomes reality...
Today however, was the most important meeting...a meeting with my agent...where we work together to brand myself and market myself to the industry...
We had a lengthy conversation of where the industry in Toronto is going. The challenges an actor faces...I got my bitching and complaining in...about how I've come so close to some roles only to lose out to a girl that looks nothing like me...or as a casting agent puts it " Going in another direction..."
We reviewed my headshots...We are trying out my new "bleach blond" look until the end of the year...otherwise...I'm going to go back to the long brown hair....as she's worried my look right now is too niche and I might not get the roles that are available in Toronto...
This might be the new me in 2 months...depending on how it goes...I'll have to do the whole extension thing until my hair grows out...but I guess its what's expected of an actor...
I told her about my upcoming singing lessons....which I start mid october...and my committment to health and working out...
We talked and talked and talked...and I knew that this agent actually cares about my goals...my journey...my dream...
And I left the meeting feeling re-energized...with the same hope that I had when I first started out on my quest over 1000 or so days ago...and I know that I could do it...that I'm so much closer then I was 1000 days ago...And it made me happy...I left with my head held high, knowing I could do anything.
Love the blonde look but the long brown hair... WOW! FABULOUS!
Who are you having the singing lessons with. Did you get hold of Alan Reid or did you find someone else?

You look so much better a as a brunette, very real, not fake. Its an industry filled with fakery, be yourself, beach blonde is not who you are. Then again, you don't like who you are that's why you want to escape into roles. I get it, I just think being natural is who you really are.
