- Had a really bad audition, was done in 30 seconds.
- Went to a meet up with Filmthrill to hear Telefilm speak about funding a movie in Canada.
- Went looking for Playback Magazine, instead ended up doing research online for what's filming in Toronto.
- Started thinking about screenwriting and creating my own work.
- Talked to another actor and found out about The Actor's Fight Club.
- Started the Actor's Work Group on Facebook. A place where actors can go to create jobs for each other.
- Started thinking about ways to promote myself to Casting Agents.
What I Learned
- With my new class at the actors lab I'll dive deeper into my acting craft.
- I may have a thought about what a role should look like but I need to open myself into further interpretation.
- Social Media and Branding is extremely important in promoting an actor.
- Perhaps by sharing my fitness goals - actually trials and tribulations - someone might get something out of it. I'm all about sharing!
- Even thought I was sick, I went to a audition meeting, so sometimes it pays to venture out, even if you aren't at your best.
- I learned that before going to an audition, I have to properly screen the director to make sure they have proper credentials.
- I need to start setting up interviews and meetings with people in the industry.
- Went to a commercial audition and gained more experience in auditioning.
- Seized the opportunity at 2:00 a.m. at a bar when it presented itself.
- Have to understand that sometimes it just isn't me.
- In order to get my film made I'm probably going to have to fundraise the money myself.
- Realized that it's important to have knowledge about what's filming in Toronto.
- Started speaking to other actors and as a result was able to find out more about the industry.
What I Learned
60. I still have lots of work to do - never give up. Keep moving forward.
